Grew up in Kingston Jamaica, Hopeton Lindo aka The Pen recorded his first song Black History in 1979 with producer Mikey Dread. He released many lovers reggae and dancehall songs in the 80's and 90's and got a big hit with Territory in 1987. He released two albums in the 90's and comes back in 2007 with Turf on his own label Irie Pen.
He is also recognized as a great songwriter - that's why he is called The Pen - and produced several artists such as Marcia Griffiths, Everton Blender or Turbulence.
