Due to visas delays, all US dates of the reggae singer’ tour have been postponed.

US fans of Eddy Grant won’t see their favourite singer on stage in 2008. Due to band visas delays, Grant has cancelled all US dates. Indeed, some of his musicians weren’t provided with visas for the venues of October 2008. All dates have been postponed until further notice.

Born in 1948 in Plaisance, Guyana, singer and songwriter Edmond Montague Grant emigrated to London when he was a child. He was part of The Equals and had his first hit, Baby Come Back in 1968. At the age of 24, he founded Coach House, the first black-owned recording studio in Europe, and created his own label Ice Records. He released several albums including hits as Living on the Frontline, I Don't Wanna Dance and Electric Avenue. He’s also well known to be a commited lyrics artist, like with Gimme Hope Jo’Anna, released during the apartheid era in South Africa. More than a reggae singer and producer, Grant also reissues calypso and soca artists. Recently, he moved his label from UK to Barbados, West Indies.

Will 2009 be the year of Grant’s US tour ? We’ll keep you informed.Stay connected !
