Jah Cure Biography

Siccature Alcock aka Jah Cure is a Jamaican reggae singer. Born on October 11th, 1978 in Hanover, Jamaica and raised in Kingston, he released the single "King In The Jungle" featuring Sizzla in 1998 for Beres Hammond's Harmony House label. The same year, Jah Cure was arrested by the police on charges of gun possession, rape and robbery. In April 1999, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison and always maintained his innocence. He became a reggae star in prison, continuing to record several singles and saw the release of 3 compilation albums, 'Free Jah’s Cure' in 2000 -compiling his first songs recorded before the incarceration- followed in 2003 by great ‘Ghetto Life’ and ‘Freedom Blues’ in 2005. Jah Cure was released from jail on July 28, 2007. On the same month, the album ‘True Reflections’ which compiled his singles released in the last years came out on VP Records.
