Having spent the last two months touring North America and Europe, Kabaka Pyramid came home to a much anticipated and well received performance at Tracks and Records Tuesday, September 9th. The filled to capacity venue was an indication of the support he enjoys. He responded to this support by smoothly delivering several of his current hit songs, such Warrior, Capitalist, Never Gonna be a Slave and Free from Chains to his fans.
To the delight of the crowd, during his set he was joined on stage by several others artistes in a show of support. Among those who performed were I-Wayne, Jesse Royal, Exco Levi, Iba Mahr, Protoje and Chronixx and several others. These acts all had one thing in common; they were a new set of cultural revolutionaries taking up the mantle of former reggae greats in the class of the 70’s and 80’s . The demographic composition of their fan base was indicative of the fact that this new wave of cultural artistes had broken through many of society’s barriers with their music.
The event was one of the most successful ones in the series as patrons look forward to the next act scheduled to perform at Tracks & Records.
