Marcia Griffiths had a National Award the 20th of October.

marcia awardThe Queen of Reggae, Marcia Griffiths was bestowed with yet another prestigious National Award, The Order of Distinction (Commander Class) at the National Honours and Awards Ceremony held at Kings House on National Heroes Day, Monday, October 20, 2014.

This fitting recognition comes on the heels of the singer celebrating fifty (50) years in the music industry. She celebrated the event at private gathering attended by some of her closest friends. Among those in attendance who joined her in celebration were former Prime Minister, Hon. PJ Patterson, Minister Omar Davies, Beres Hammond, Minister Lisa Hanna, Tommy Cowan, Copeland Forbes, producer Donovan Germain and others who have supported her throughout her musical journey. The event was held at The Eden Garden Wellness Center in Kingston. Other musicians who were also honored on National Heroes Day were guitarist Dwight Pinkney & hornsman Bobby Ellis.
