The Wailing Souls are a Jamaican reggae vocal group formed in the 1960’s. They have recorded with many producers as Coxsone Dodd ( Wailing Souls, Soul and Power), Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes (Firehouse Rock, Inchpinchers), Linval Thompson (Wailing) and Delroy Wright (Lay It On The Line, Kingston 14, Reggae Ina Firehouse). They also selfproduced some of their albums (Wild Suspense, On The Rocks). They released several classics as Bredda Gravalicious, Cherry Ripe, War, Jah Give Us Life and Firehouse Rock to name just a few. The lineup of the group has changed many times since their beginning but two singers have been ever present : Winston "Pipe" Matthews and Lloyd "Bread" MacDonald. In 2008, one of the original member of the band, Rudolph ‘Garth’ Dennis, joins up with the band. Together, they plan to release a new studio album in 2009.
