Born Kevin Roberts in 1977 in the Eastern parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica, Natty King emerged on the reggae scene in the early 2000. He was influenced by singers as Burning Spear and Luciano, who is his personal role model.
Natty King is a conscious modern roots & culture artist, delivering conscious and pacifist lyrics. 2003 was the year of his revelation, he was voted number one rural artiste in Jamaica, won the Award in the Best New Entertainer category at the 23rd International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in New York, as well as the Jamaica Federation Music Award (JFM) for Best New Singer. His debut album, No Guns To Town was produced by the old-school DJ Trinity and released in 2005. It features his two biggest hits, Mr Greedy and the title track. After a promising first effort and various singles, Natty King seems to be still working on his second album.
