Barry Brown was a roots and dancehall singer. He passed away on May 2004.
Born in 1962 in Kingston, Jamaica, he begun in the late 70’. After his first single “Girl You're Always On My Mind” he released the great “Step It Up Youthman” album in 1979 produced by Bunny Lee. 1980 saw the release of an essential roots reggae album, "Cool Pon Your Corner" on Trojan Records. He recorded songs for different producers such as Clement "Sir Coxsone" Dodd, Linval thompson or Henry "Junjo" Lawes and also on his Jabba Roots label.
Barry Brown was a serious artist with conscious lyrics as several hits as “Politician”, “Jah Jah Say”, “Far East” and “Not So Lucky” prove it. Not to miss!
