The history of reggae and the tremendous passion that it causes to the three last generations motivated Jerome Laperrousaz to carry out an investigation into this musical style.
He finds out the origins of ska and rock'n'roll and explains how Jamaica opposed to its misery and its suffering this song of revolt, which has now become a sign of identity. The principal reggae’s spokesmen, representative of the Jamaican dream, testify. Idols of the origins to the stars of the rising generation, all are filmed on scene, during recordings or in their private life, these sequences are used as the guide line of this documentary film, reflecting a music whose state of mind and values go far beyond the North-South opposition.
