"All of us have a journey, and this album is highlighting mine. I grew up in a poor community and I did not wear shoes every day. I reached a stage where I can buy my own shoes, and this is what the journey is about: from rogues to riches"

With warmth and simplicity, Ken Boothe welcomed us at his house in Kingston. It was in August while Jamaica was celebrating its 50th anniversary of independence. "Jamaica and I are brothers now", claims Mr Rocksteady, who is also celebrating the 50th birthday of his career.

It was the occasion for us to discuss his childhood, his beginnings, Studio One, his projects… His journey, which is also the name of his new album to be released in November 2012.
