Moonsplash festival is one of a kind, the venue is Bankie's spot on the beach, built with only natural materials, on different levels, with some creative creations by Ras Bullet, the artistes and musicians are some of the best... Moonsplash is one of the most irie shows on earth!
The Dune Preserve's settings for Moonsplash 2013 were, again, simply amazing, the lion was still cool..
The line-up for this year, with Pressure, Romain Virgo, Patra, Big Youth, all backed by Ikonic band with Jr Jazz; was a perfect mix of old school reggae & dancehall acts and new roots artists as well.
Anguilla's 3 piece band British Dependency opened up and blessed the atmosphere with smooth sounds, and Omari Banks closed off the show on saturday night.
Romain Virgo's performance was just breathtaking, it was his 1st time on the island of Anguilla, the young man captured the crowd with his tunes at The Dune preserve and delivered a performance straight from the heart.
Don't forget, every year, Bankie always welcomes special guests to come enjoy the vibes at Moonsplash, last year was Nas & Q-Tip, this year was no other than Meta Dia, who did an acoustic set to be remembered with a short preview from his new album, including a song dedicated to the moon.
We all smiled and skanked to the legendary sounds of Big Youth, with Bankie on the roof top, with the full moon shining in the background, awesome 23rd Moonsplash.
Thank you Bankie!
