It was a lovely South Florida afternoon at VP Records, Saturday, April 6, 2013. We waited patiently for Etana to arrive. Her energy and gracefulness encompassed the VP Records grounds as she emerged onto the property.
Etana's new album 'Better Tomorrow' is about life, love & reggae. The 14 tracks completes her third album and is mainly produced by Shane Brown. Affectionately called 'The Strong One' after her debut album in 2008 of which she earned the IRAWMA 'Album of the Year' award for her dedicated efforts on it. Her new album, 'A Better Tomorrow' reflects the theme of unity, "no more Hungary children, no more religious division, only love & compassion to heal the nation", as the lyrics say.
Etana is married to Andre Morris and has two children. Her given name is Shauna Mckenzie, and after attending school in Jamaica, she moved to South Florida in the early 90's.
A warm and loving person, Etana's fans thoroughly enjoyed themselves, posing for pictures and getting their CD signed.
