The annual staging of International Reggae Day was held this year on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. It was the 21st staging of the event which started in 1994.
The event’s co-founder, Andrea Davis, stated that in recognition of the day, activities were being held in Miami, Ft. However, the major event was an International Reggae Day Conference held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica. Key speakers included David Stopps (WIPO) speaking on Global Market & Digital Trends, Javier Figueras, HBO’s VP of Corporate Affairs speaking on New Technology, Trends and Opportunities for Caribbean Cable, Roshaun “Bay-C" Clarke of TOK & Bombruh Records speaking on Content Challenges and Distribution Strategies, and Gussie Clarke (Anchor Records) speaking on the Impact of Technology on the Jamaican Sound.
