The final night of Reggae Sumfest dubbed Star Time featured Persons of Interest and culminated the Pepsi Refresh Hour which was previously held throughout the island.
The Refresh Hour included acts such as Deneque, Kalado, Raine Seville and others. They were followed by the group L.U.S.T (comprising individual members Singing Melody, Lukie D, Thriller U & Tony Curtis), who were well appreciated by the crowd. They sang hits from their individual as well as group catalogue. They were easily one of the major standouts of the festival.
Yazz The Greatest, US based artiste, and actor from the Empire television series was also well received and interacted well with the crowd. His jumping on the speakers in front of the stage to get closer to his screaming fans simply elicited more screams. Major headliner Jennifer Hudson was in a class by herself as she performed her set. During her performance she invited a local artiste who had won a talent contest to join her on stage. This was much appreciated by the crowd and they showed their support.
Christopher Martin held his own as he usually does, selecting from his vast and rapidly growing catalogue of songs. The festival was closed by The Doctor Beenie Man. With his slew of hits to choose from, he delivered well, dancing and singing everything from dancehall to gospel. The show ended in the early hours of the morning as patrons could be seeing filing out of the venue, based on this year’s output it was clear that patrons could look forward to see what next year’s festival would bring.
