Lovers of roots reggae with some deluxe brass embellishment are in for a special treat with this 4 track release from Easybeat Productions. Kicking off with ‘Deliver Us’ sees Neville Grooves recounting many of the ills of modern day life, as he pleads with Jah to ‘deliver us from the wicked and let us survive’, set to sweet, sometimes spiralling and sometimes sensitively straining horns. This is followed by ‘Deliver The Version’ from the Easy Beat Riddim Section, as the brass boys are given free rein to do their thing – and do their thing they do to maximum effect! This track deserves maximum exposure, as it will raise flagging spirits every time. Thereafter, ‘Dubwise Delivery’ kicks in via Mark Solution, with a bouncy opening interspersed with some sweet sounding shots and trumpet play. The all too short product closes with ‘Special Delivery Dub’, as Mark Solution enables Grooves to replicate his earlier pleas, set to an easy rhythm with special sound effects.
Produced and mixed by Mark Solution, with Dave Fullwood (of Zion Train fame) on trumpet and flugel horn, this sweet sound is a must for mass exposure. Hopefully the DJs will see the light when they hear the magic!
