African Reggae recently lost his icon with Lucky Dube's death, here is the promising first album from the upcoming Nigerian singer Bishob.
Born in 1973 and raised in Benin city, the young man left his native country for Mali in 1996 and met Manjul 9 years later. This encounter marks the birth of cooperation between the two artists and the beginning of Get Up And Try. Alongside Manjul, Bishob presents a complete album full of soul melodies and good vibes. This set features 19 tracks including great dub versions played by Manjul and his band at Humble Ark studio in Bamako, Mali.
In addition to the great titled track, this album features future hits 'Chant A Song', 'Hot Time In Freetown', 'Broken Record' and powerful 'One Love' led by an heavy instrumental featuring a great flute cut. Once again Manjul's touch, impressed of african music is easily recognizable and perfectly accompanies Bishob's original voice and commited lyrics. This project is the result of various cultures mixing the voice of Nigerian singer Bishob, lyrics of the native Sierra Leone author Johnson Ian Abioseh and the music of French artist Manjul, based in Bamako.
A production made in Mali, recorded, mixed and produced by Manjul at his Humble Ark studio illustrating that good reggae has no fronteer and is truly powerful.
