The weather was of no concern to the thousands of patrons at the Providence National Stadium in Guyana on January 3rd 2015. They brought their umbrellas and braved the eventual rain in anticipation of performances from Beres Hammond and Romain Virgo at the ‘More Beres-Concert of Love’.
The show featured local artistes including Super Ray and Jackie Jaxx but it was clear that as the major headliner s, the turnout was for Romain Virgo and Beres Hammond. This being his first time in Guyana, Romain was determined that he would be remembered and delivered an energetic set of his songs and a few of R. Kelly’s tunes. He captivated the young audience from the beginning but by the end of the set it was clear he had also won over the more mature attendees.
Despite the intermittent rainfall of the evening, over 15,000 loyal patrons packed the venue to hear one of Guyana’s favourite singers, Beres sing. As is customary, he did not disappoint, backed by the Harmony House Band he delivered hits such as Can You Play Some More, No Disturb Sign, Fight the Feeling, and Feel Good. Traditionally one of his biggest markets in the Caribbean in terms of support, this year was no different as thousand showed up to ‘rockaway’ with him. It was the first show of 2015 for singer Beres Hammond.
