In the first quarter of 2012 Fashion Records' entire back catalog will be relaunched digitally via Believe Digital.
The label’s extensive back catalogue includes Dee Sharp’s chart-topper Let’s Dub it Up as well as releases by General Levy, Top Cat, Cutty Ranks, Alton Ellis, Johnny Clarke, Frankie Paul, Junior Delgado alongside many other top reggae artists from both Jamaica and the UK.
“We are delighted that the extensive Fashion Records back catalogue is going to get a digital release in its entirety for the first time. It is an important body of work, which still has international appeal and Believe Digital will provide the perfect platform to get it out into the digital marketplace,” says Co-founder of Fashion Records John MacGillivray to Music Week.
Fashion Records – founded in 1980 – was the brainchild of reggae devotees John MacGillivray and Chris Lane and was essentially a spin-off from MacGillivray's Dub Vendor record store.
