Lord Uptown draws inspiration from former gang member.

Swedish reggae and dub producer Lord Uptown has recently put out three new releases in the UK dub vein – 'Grievous Times EP' and the two singles Move and Shakers/Imperial Monkey and Uptown Stereo/KIngstonian Star. Both put out on his own imprints Bomb Proof Dubs and Dub Cobra.

Lord Uptown - Grevious Times

Both the title track from the EP and its video was inspired by a quote from former gang member about last summer’s riots in London:

"If you ask how we became a society where young people think it's ok to rob and loot, I respond: how did we get to a society that cares more about shops and businesses than the lives of young people."

All three releases are currently available as digital download.
