News about reggae music, artists, culture and more...
After successful encyclopedias on reggae music such as 'The Guiness Who’s Who of Reggae', 'The Virgin Encyclopedia of Reggae and Reggae', 'The Rough Guide' it’s now time for another one.
On November 13 Sterling publishes 'The Encyclopedia of Reggae: The Golden Age of Roots Reggae' written by Mike Alleyne, Professor of cultural and economic history of Carribbean music as well as being a music critic and a journalist. The book’s foreword is penned by well-respected drummer Sly Dunbar.
'The Encyclopedia of Reggae: The Golden Age of Roots Reggae' tells the reggae story from the late 1960’s ska and rocksteady craze to the mid-1980’s heyday of dancehall. It features more than 500 images, including rare album art and ephemera, and profiles more than 200 key performers, impresarios and producers from reggae's history.
