George Phang Power House Selector's Choice

17 North Parade is back with new releases for rub a dub and 80’s dancehall fans. After a focus on King Jammy’s productions, here is Power House Selector Choice vol. 1-4, a collection of 4 compilations dedicated to producer George Phang’s work, due out for October, 7th on VP roots reggae imprint.

Phang is a Jamaican producer, born in the 1950’s in Kingston, Jamaica, who has definitely left his mark on reggae music. From the early to the late eighties, he produced a lot of artists on his label Power House. Power House Selector's Choice is a kind of retrospective of his work featuring artists such as Half Pint, Johnny Osbourne, Sugar Minott, Nitty Gritty, Charlie Chaplin, Echo Minott, Little John, Michael Prophet, Yellowman, Michael Palmer, Frankie Paul, Barrington Levy or Tenor Saw. 4 double CDs delivering 160 tracks in all, including cuts on classic riddims as Answer, Bobby Babylon, Cuss Cuss, Declaration Of Rights, Heavenless, Java, Mr Bassie, Rockfort Rock, Stalag, Sleng Teng and Shank I Sheck.
