Reggae singer Lucky Dube has been killed yesterday evening in South Africa

Reggae singer Lucky Dube has been shot and killed around 8.20pm yesterday.

The incident took place on Thursday night when Dube went to drop off his son at his uncle's house in Rosettenville, southern Johannesburg. Two men approached him and opened fire. No further details were available as his son, who reportedly witnessed the incident, was still in shock. At now the hijackers were still at large.

Lucky Philip Dube was born on the 3rd of August in 1964. After a few failed pregnancy attempts by his mother Sarah, Lucky came into the world. Giving birth to a boy was considered a blessing and his mother considered his birth so fortunate that she aptly named him 'Lucky'.

Our special condolences to his family, rest in peace man, we love you all for all the good vibes you shoot !

No one loved you like I did, no one felt the passion in your lyrics, voice and instrumentals like I did! Listening to your music was like going to church to humbly confess my sins. Your songs: its not easy, the way it is, touch your dream, remember me and freedom made me lose tears at many occassions because of the passion in them! I will never stop playing lucky dube, my passion for your songs will not cease! The rastars never die, you live on in our hearts. Once again, RIP!
