Tad’s records re-releases this great trio vocal album recorded at Black Ark studio.

Sampler

Even if they are best known for their classic hit Johnny Too Bad featured in the legendary Jamaican movie The Harder They Come original soundtrack, Jamaican vocal trio The Slickers also recorded this great BreakThrough at Black Ark studio before definitively splitting.

Originally out in 1979 on Tad’s records, the label has decided to re-release the LP along with a CD version including 8 bonus tracks (2 vocals and 3 instrumentals recorded in 1975 at Harry J’s studio and 2 singles by Delroy Wilson and Lloyd Robinson released on Tad’s records in the 80’s).

Produced by Clive Hunt and recorded at legendary producer Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s studio, this set delivers deep roots and strong Black Ark's sound with Leroy ‘Horsemouth’ Wallace on drums, Robbie Shakespeare on bass, Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith and Michael Chung on guitars and Augustus Pablo on Keyboards and melodica.

A great reissue with top roots vocals and harmonies in the rasta vocal trio tradition !
