Captain BarkeyAccording to New York Post veteran Jamaican dancehall deejay Captain Barkey was found dead on October 13 outside a motel in the Bronx area of New York City. According to the post’s sources he and the woman he was with at the time were shot in the head by her ex-boyfriend, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Captain Barkey was 50 years old at the time of his death and he had been in the music business for many years. He started at the sound system circuit deejaying for Stereo One and People’s Choice and had his biggest hit in 1996 with Go Go Wine.

Together with fellow deejay Wickerman he also recorded with producers King Jammy and Steelie & Clevie.
