Glasgow reggae sound system Argonaut Sounds have recently released their long standing resident MC Babascum’s “Down Inna Di Ghetto”, with backing vocals by Shantha Roberts, as the first release on their new label Argonaut Sounds Productions. The cut is an upbeat one drop track taking its lead from the resurgent reggae scene in Jamaica and Europe and makes a refreshing change from the dubstep and bass music influences currently dominating the UK.

Babascum - Down Inna Di GhettoBabascum, originally from St Lucia, like many reggae artists has been immersed in music from a tender age as his family are gospel and folk signers. This is born out in the lyrical content which like reggae is often a vehicle for social awareness and carries a spiritual message while reflecting the complexities of life.

Babascum said of the release “Music has always been my release, my joy, my love, everything. It’s always made me feel part of a community, and I’m so happy to be able to make a contribution to the music.”

The single is available direct from Argonaut Sounds website and from all good record stores and online retailers
