Following his well received 2013 release 'New Veteran', world-rated UK artist Lloyd Brown has announced his 17th studio album for Autumn this year.
It's a potentially mouth-watering prospect, showcasing Lloyd the roots singer, featuring 13 songs crafted by the USA's feted production trio Zion I Kings.
'Rootical' includes combinations with Pressure Buss Pipe, Jahdan Blakkamoore, and Yisrael Immanuel.
Lloyd describes it as containing “No riddim do-overs, no covers, no Studio One, no Treasure Isle. Completely original lyrics and music.”
Lloyd collaborated with Zion I Kings on the Tippa Irie combination Make It Work on last year’s 'Jah Golden Throne' compilation. The collective of David “Jah D” Goldfine, Laurent “Tippy I” Alfred and Andrew “Moon” Bain also produced the song Just So That You Know on his album “30”.
Originally viewed as a lovers rock singer, Lloyd was making roots music at least as far back as 1996 with the Saxon helmed Power of Jah on the Prophecy rhythm.
'Rootical' will be released in October by Zion High Productions rather than his own Riddimworks label.
It will be also be the first set since 2009’s 'For Your Consideration' to be available on CD as well as digital download.
