News about reggae music, artists, culture and more...
Going into its fifth year BoomTown Fair at the Matterly Estate, Winchester, UK, has a line-up consisting of more than 300 artists and bands celebrating ska, reggae, dub, swing, folk, drum & bass, jungle, punk and all spectrums of roots and bass culture. Included are heavyweights such as Toots and the Maytals, Arrested Development, Richie Spice, Collie Buddz, Bad Manners and Gentleman and the Evolution.
Apart from music, the BoomTown Fair also hosts a circus and an experimental arts area. This year the festival takes place August 8-12 and it has been sold out every year for the past four years and has also managed to expand from 1,000 visitors in 2009 to 28,000 in 2012, so it might be a good time to check your ticket.
