UK reissue giant Soul Jazz Records reissues , their biggest ever selling release.
The new edition of this groundbreaking compilation is both remastered and expanded and comes with five new tracks produced by reggae luminaries like Coxsone Dodd, Lee Perry and Winston Riley, including Bunny Clarke’s Be Thankful, Ken Boothe’s Is It Because I’m Black and Horace Andy’s My Soul.
The set was originally released in 1998 and it has since become almost like a cornerstone in reggae. It showcases killer tracks influenced by jazz, funk and soul. It features some serious funk by Jackie Mittoo, The Upsetters and Toots & The Maytals.
Also included are heavyweight and revolutionary tunes such as Johnny Osbourne’s We Need Love, Sound Dimension’s Drum Song, Willie Williams’ Armageddon Time and Lloyd Robinson’s Cuss Cuss, songs that helped define a unique sound for Jamaican music in the sixties and seventies.
100% Dynamite drops on September 25 and will be available on CD, double vinyl and digital.
