After acclaimed riddims Shuttle, Tizita and Abeng come independent Swiss label Soul of Anbessa's fourth riddim Tarab, an Arabic word roughly meaning the ecstasy one gets through music.
Just as previous riddims this new one was recorded at a legendary Jamaican studio – Harry J – using several foundation musicians – Derrick Stewart from Conscious Minds on drums, bass man Boris Gardiner from The Crystalites, The Upsetters and The Boris Gardiner Happening, Dwight Pinkney from The Sharks, Zap Pow and Roots Radics on guitar and Robbie Lyn from Sound Dimension, Now Generation and The Upsetters on keys.
The riddim comes with three vocal cuts – Prince Alla, the late Maurice Roberts and Little Roy – and one dub version, all mixed in London by engineers extraordinaire Darren Jamtone and Inyaki BDF. Tarab Showcase will be released on one 12" vinyl in late December 2015 and in 2016 it will be available on digital download via Bandcamp.
