After about seven years out of the spotlights UK's Pama International is back with a brand new line-up as well as a new album. Their new set Love & Austerity is scheduled for release in January next year and collects eight singles including thunderous dubs, soul ballads, organ instrumentals, rocksteady and reggae.
It will feature lead vocal courtesy of Jewel Vass and Anna Uhuru along with production from Pama International's songwriter and founder Sean Flowerdew and guitarist Lenny Bignell.
The first single was released on October 14 and is a version of Martha Reeves & The Vandella's soul scorcher Heatwave. The second single Austerity Skank will be available on November 18th.
In their first ten years Pama International recorded no less than nine albums, won the Rebel playlist on BBC6 and became the first new act to sign to Trojan Records in 30 years. Their collective nature saw them work with a host of musicians, including members of The Specials, Madness, Steel Pulse, Style Council and artists such as Derrick Morgan, Dave & Ansel Collins, Dawn Penn, Dennis Alcapone and Rico Rodriguez.
