Springline Jamaica, the internet radio and record label collective has announced plans for a new online radio station, Springline Showcase, for up and coming and unsigned artists and outfits only.
In a statement circulated via myspace to “
all artist’s and uprising stars of the Reggae world” the Springline team, which includes pioneering British soundman Uncle Fee, has asked for music by unheralded reggae singers musicians and rhythm builders to play on “
A brand new smaller sister station to air alongside our mother station ‘Springline Jamaica Radio’ To run online 24/7”.
Ras Gibsy of Springline summed up the proposal in these words :
“New reggae music that deserves to be heard..
We are not in a position to help finance everybody’s release! We wish
We could but this is our next best solution.”
Springline have stated that they are not asking for copyright of any material, which will stay with the author/s of the music. Their only stipulation is that they don’t want to play “Jungle Slackness (or) Hardcore Ragga” on the new station.
