VIS Records for Very Important Sound. Gowdie Ranks’ label, started in the early 90’s, recently releases the modern roots Zion Way riddim featuring a plenty of Jamaican artists on vocals.
We found cuts by well known singers and deejays as Mykal Roze, Gregory Isaacs, Turbulence, Anthony B, and up-and-coming artists as Ras Ipple, G.I Joe and Selvey Wonder. This riddim could remind the great Crisis riddim previously released on 7’’ on VIS records in 2004, but this new one, recorded between UK and Jamaica, in Stingray Studios (London) and Big Ship Studio (JA), was mixed by Stephen McGregor, Freddie’s son and Clayton ‘Freckles’ Trench.
We found several big tunes as Freddie Mc Gregor’s Heartless Sinners, Courtney Melody’s Zion Way, Al Campbell’s World Crisis and Jahmali’s Too Much Agression to name just a few. 23 cuts for the Zion Way available on 7" now and due out on LP and CD in July. A recommended conscious modern roots production.
