2008 is a prolific year for UK producer Gussie P. After the release of Twinkle Brothers’ new LP Repent, the first volume in the Sip A Cup showcase album series, the producer returns with three new roots pieces out on his label Sip A Cup: Earl 16’s Jah Messengers, Danny Red’s Iteopian Rock and Matic Horns’ instrumental set 400 Years.
These Gussie P’s produced albums were recorded at Mafia and Fluxy’s studio with The Sip A Cup All Stars (Leroy Mafia on bass and keyboard, Dave Fluxy at drums and percussion, Henry ‘Buttons’ Tenyue on trombone). To note that Earl 16’s showcase includes the killer and rare single Jah Messenger originally out on Japanese label Pirka Atuy. Three roots and dub releases recommended, available only on LP.
