October is Heritage Month in Jamaica when the island celebrates its heroes past and present. And it’s also the month to pay tribute to Peter Tosh. Every year since his death in 1987, many events are scheduled to pay tribute to this icon of Reggae music. This year, the annual Peter Tosh’s Tribute will take place on Saturday, October 18, in Belmont at the site of his mausoleum. The main feature will be the appearance of three artists whose family names are well known by reggae fans : Peter Tosh’s son, Andrew Tosh, Sensi Love, the daughter of Bunny Wailer and Akila Barrett, the son of the late Wailers' drummer, Carlton Barrett. Lutan Fyah, Bushman, Little Hero, Natural Black and Edi Fitzroy are also expected to perform alongside the second generation of the Wailers.
