Roots Hitek’s new 10’ will soon be available in all good records shops. The London based label presents 4 new tracks, including the heavy Captive Free featuring Sista Lexxy on vocals and its powerful dub version by the Roots Hitek players. Side B comprises Mashonaland and Mashona Dub, two tough instrumentals in a UK dub stepper style. To note that both tunes are livicated to the people of Mashonaland - a region in northern Zimbabwe- known as the Shona people currently going through serious times.

Firstly set up as Ravers Hi Fi in the early 90’s, the sound system soon changed its name for Roots Hitek. Specialized in conscious roots reggae and stepper dub, Hitek sound system and label has released several singles featuring Barry Issacs, Nya Azania, Colour Red or Tena Stelin, and also produced Tony Roots’ album Sufferer’s Cry (2000).
