Master producer Frenchie – of Maximum Sound – is set to launch a new label called Maximum Sound Bwoy Killers. The imprint will focus on sound bwoy tunes and the first release is the up-tempo Tin Mackerel riddim, in reference to veteran deejay Major Mackerel who has two tracks on the riddim – one with Mr Vegas and Natel and one by himself.
Other cuts include vocals from Ce’cile, Romain Virgo, Konshens, Burro Banton and Tony Curtis, who borrows the melody from Petula Clark’s 1964 chart topper Downtown.
The Tin Mackerel riddim drops on 7” in late February and somewhat later as digital download.
