Here is a new release reminding us that roots reggae is still alive. With the Shuttle riddim, the new Swiss label Soul of Anbessa takes us back in the 70’s when rockers style used to rule the reggae scene. The first singles of the series to be released this month feature Prince Alla’s Forward followed by its dub version ; BB Seaton’s Life Goes On and Dennis Alcapone’s It Goes Like This on the flip side. Two other singles with Stranger Cole and Nigerian Ras Obi on vocals and Glen Adams on organ should be out soon…
The rockers Shuttle riddim has been recorded in 2006 at Mixing Lab studio in Jamaica by the Dwight Pinkney All-Stars and mixed by Errol Brown. It features reggae stars on vocals alongside musicians as Sly Dunbar, Keith Francis, Ansel Collins and Nambo Robinson. A promising debut release out of Switzerland, gathering living legends from Jamaica.
