News about reggae music, artists, culture and more...
Dub Echoes shows how the Jamaican invention called dub ended up influencing much of the music we hear today, from electronic music to hip-hop, transforming the studio in a musical instrument and giving way to all sorts of sonic experiments. This film features a lot of key artists - U Roy, King Jammy, Lee Perry, Sly Dunbar, Bunny Lee (to name just a few).
The documentary was shot, by a brazilian crew, in Kingston (Jamaica), London (UK), NY, Washington, LA (US) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
The DVD should be released in November through Soul Jazz Records. Get ready for a reggae trip that will take your mind beyond what you've ever imagined. Just follow the bass lines.
