UK based Producer Frenchie presents a new riddim out on his own label Maximum Sound. Entitled The Session, it features 6 cuts by such renowned Jamaican artists as Anthony B (featuring Horace Andy), dancehall veteran Burro Banton, Fantan Mojah, Lukie D, new reggae star Tarrus Riley, and Chezidek.
As usual with Maximum Sound, the result is some modern roots reggae cuts of quality. Anthony B’s song Enter The kingdom of Zion will be featured on his upcoming album Rise Up (also produced by Frenchie) and due out in stores on January 2009 on Greensleeves. The Session riddim - a recut of Black Uhuru’s Party In session, originally out on 12’ on Mango in 1983 - is now available on six 7’. Recommended.
